Duncan is currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Griffith University Nathan. Duncan’s journey into healthcare comes after a decade of working in the media in both Brisbane and Sydney. Duncan had a varied media career starting off writing music journalism before going on to work for large media institutions including SBS, Bauer Media and Thomson Reuters Australia. It was while working for now defunct Bauer Media’s Men Health magazine, writing advertorial articles like “10 ways to get Big Arms for summer” and “Get Beach Body Ready in 6 Easy Steps”, that Duncan knew that the health industry was where he was going to focus his career change.

Choosing to Study Physiotherapy Duncan was looking for a career path where he would be able to use his eye for fine detail and empathetic nature to positively impact patient’s rehabilitation from injury and health in a deep way, creating lasting results. Duncan views movement and health in a holistic manner and incorporates movement practises including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Ashtanga Yoga, the Feldenkrais method, weight training and meditation into his life.

Duncan values learning and is looking forward to experience he will gain from being a part of IOSAS team.
